Fruit Of His Harvest
I have mentioned previously of the opportunity that the Lord has given me to preach and teach in a public school in the community in which we eventually intend to live. I have had the chance to sow and water the seeds of the Gospel among the students, and also build a relationship with the teachers and principal.
Last week, another missionary that is serving here in Liberia told me that he had some visitors coming to visit Liberia for a missions trip, and said that they were interested in preaching and teaching in some schools to the young people. He asked if I had any connections to make that happen, and I mentioned the one I have been working with. I got with the principal and obtained permission to have some guests come and do teaching.
Yesterday was the day we were scheduled to teach there. We split the visitors up into two groups and went from classroom to classroom with the message of the Gospel. In all, we spent over 4 hours visiting a total of 20 classes and spoke to around 1,000 students. (One class had 85 students in it!) At the end of each session, we encouraged the students to come to us afterward if they had any questions about salvation, or wanted to receive Jesus Christ as their Saviour. Those that came to us were dealt with individually, and we had a total of 17 students profess faith in our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ! What a blessing it is to see some visible fruit come out of the opportunity God has given us in this public school.
I Corinthians 3:7-9a “So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. (8) Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. (9) For we are labourers together with God…”
